Dooneen Senior Race Updates
Well dome to our Dooneen Athletics who turned out in huge numbers and produced great times in Adare today.
Dooneen took the Womnen’s Team title on 35 pts from West Limerick on 41. Credit goes to Clare Coleman 5th and 1st F40 (40:08) Tracey Johnson 8th (41:39), Sinead McDermott 9th (41:42) and Ann MacPhail 13th (43:37) who helped Dooneen take the Cup.
Our Mens team were 2nd overall and featured Dima Zarinovs 23rd place on 35:36, Kevin Johnson (30th) 37:12, Cian Aherne (31st) 37:15 and Seamus McCarthy (34th) 37:45 .
Other times included Brian Ahern 38:02, Stephen Ahern 38:03, Paul Naughton 39:13, Liam Liddy 41:45, Declan Kennedy 41:39, Ger O’Shea 41:45, Damien Wilmots 42:37, Lar Cleary 42:35, Tom Quinn 43:04, Shane O’Brien 43:36, Ronan Lawlor 44:05, Mike Griffin 44:23, Robert Bourke 47:30, Shane Lillis 48:16, Mike Clarke 48:49, John Shier 49:26, Patrick Reeves 51:23, Seamus Fitzgerald 51:48, Willie Gorman 53:36, Patrick O’Donnell 57:20, Conor Gahan 58:31
Louise Matthews was 3rd O50 Woman on 45:04 and other Women’s time included Liz Wilmot 45:17, Maria Maher 45:25, Karen Raine 46:40, Fiona Treacy 51:23, Clare Knight (3rd O60 Female) 51:52, Eileen Reeves 53:58, June Clifford 57:39, Geraldine Ryan 57:51.
Well done all on fantastic, times, fantastic camaraderie and. a fantastic day.
In the Milford Hospice 10K the winner was Cillian Higgins who took top honours in a fantastic time of 34:05
He wasn’t the only ‘Dooneener’ on the podium as Emer O’Mahony was 3rd placed lady on 41:41
Other times included J.P. Lawlor Pb of 37:41, Tanya Cox 41:48, Niall Harris 40:04 and Niall Bennis 48:26.
In the Nenagh Half Marathon Kieran O’Brien was an excellent 10th in 1:19:00.
And finally well done to Fiona Treacy who braved the bad weather on Saturday at the Lisdoonvarna 5 mile and then ran the Adare 10k on Sunday in a very respectible 51 minutes.
