2026 Pat Naughton Indoor Games
The Pat Naughton Games, hosted by Nenagh Olympic AC, for club athletes aged U9 to U11 took place at the indoor track on Sunday Feb 15th. With 60m sprints, 300m, 500m and 600m middle-distance races, long jump, turbo javelin and shot-put, there was plenty of action and competition for all and there was a large contingency of Dooneen athletes in attendance. 2026 National Indoor League Final
Valentine’s Day 2026 will hold a special place in the hearts of the Dooneen National League women’s team, as many of them proudly claimed their first National Senior Athletics medal. It was a thrilling and fast-moving day, packed with standout performances from start to finish. The action kicked off with the 60m, where the talented Destiny Lawal got Dooneen off to a good start by putting our first points on the scoreboard. Momentum quickly gathered thanks to Olga Nedvede, who delivered a superb maximum-points performance in the weight for distance, setting the tone for the events to follow. Mungret Development update in Limerick Leader
The Limerick Leader have published an article about the Mungret Development, and is available online now. A planning notice has been published which represents the first step for the club in securing permission to build on a five-acre patch of land opposite Mungret Community College. The facility is set to comprise of an indoor running track, gymnasium, plus changing rooms. National League Team Result
Our young Dooneen girls team made the trip to Athlone for Day 2 of the Athletics Ireland Indoor League competition. Transition Year student Emer Purtill gave the team the perfect start, taking maximum points in the 4kg shot put with a massive throw of 13.31m. This set the tone for what turned out to be a great day. Sixteen-year-old sprint star Destiny Lawal made a welcome return from injury, giving the team a big boost in the 60m sprint. 2026 Munster Indoor Calendar
Munster indoor track and field events will begin on February 21st and 22nd, for U15-U19 age groups (Born 2012 is U15, born 2008 is U19). Competition for U12-14 (born 2015-2013) will take place on the weekend of March 7th and 8th. There is no Munster indoor competition for U9-U11 age groups. Timetable for the first weekend, U15-U19, is shown below. Please note that all walks, for all age groups, will take place on Sunday March 8th, and not over the weekend of Feb 21/22. Entries through the club only, given at training with €3 per event, by Sunday Feb 8th so we can process them in time before entries close.…

2026 Limerick County Indoor Track and Field
After a long day in Nenagh, the 2026 Track and Field season is offically begun. Kicking off a 10AM with the U11 4x200m relays, and ending at 6:30PM with the U15 long jumps, it was a fantastic day put together by the Limerick County Board, and all the volunteers that gave their time to ensure smooth running of all the events. International Athlete Presentations 2025
Congratulations to Emer Purtil, Meabh Purtil, Destiny Lawel, Ellen Goggin, Ella Grace Osborne and Megan O’Shea who were all selected for various different Irish International Squads over the past year. This morning they were all recognised by the club and their teammates at a presentation on track. Ellen and Ella Grace were both selected in Schools Cross Country. Meabh was selected in the Irish Schools Multi-event. Emer was at the FISEC-FICEP Games 2025 in Budapest and the Irish Schools Multi-event. Megan was also at the FISEC-FICEP Games in Budapest. Destiny was selected for the European Youths, Macedonia and also the European U20 in Finland.

Limerick 2025 Juvenile Uneven-age Cross Country
The final county cross country championship was held on Sunday Nov 9th at the Newcastle West Show grounds, hosted by West Limerick AC. There was a great turnout from Dooneen Juveniles across all of the categories with team and individual success in each of the categories on the day.
