2025 Munster U12-14 Indoor Championships
The 2025 Munster Indoor Championships are now complete with the second weekend in Nenagh. Starting the weekend off were the hurdles and in Girls U14 was Faye Cusack, followed by Sophie Sherlock and Clara Mooney in U12. Clara made the semi-final and Sophie made the final. In the U13 Hurdles Lucy O’Donnell made the semi-final. In Boys U13 Hurdles Bobby Weekes and Milo Liddy-McDonagh both made the final, with Bobby finishing 2nd and Milo coming 8th. Girls U14 800m Lara O’Regan ran in heat 2 alongside the eventual overall winner while Eva McMahon ran heat 4 winning this heat and finishing 2nd overall. Caitlin Garvey won the girls U14 1000m…

2025 Munster Indoor U15-U19 Championships
Last weekend saw the Munster Indoor track and field season start at Nenagh Olympic Stadium. Over the weekend athletes from all over Munster turned out to compete for medals and qualification to the National Indoor Championships in March. Siun Galvin was first up for Dooneen on Saturday in the U15 Girls 60m hurdles. Isbéal Ni Huigín competed in the U16 Girls 200m and came 2nd, splitting the 1st and 3rd that had both run in the first heat and finishing over 1 second ahead of the 2nd place in her heat. 2025 Limerick Indoors
The Indoor Track and Field championships took place on Sunday the 12th in Nenagh. After a week of snow and freezing conditions, the temperature got up enough to go ahead with the championships, and the competition was hot too. First off, it was a very special Birthday for one very special coach. Wrapping Up The 2024 Season
As 2024 comes to a close, these are some of the recent highlights from the club in Munster and National Cross Country, and other International Events. Well done to Caitlin Garvey who competed in the International race walking event, incorporating National Championships in Dublin today. Caitlin finished in top ten of Irish girls in U14 2k race and achieved a personal best!! Spraoi Games with Dooneen AC Little Athletics group. 24 5-7 year olds have been active for the past 8 weeks. Our Latest International Athlete
Dooneen Athletic Club’s latest International athlete, Destiny Lawal, competed at the AAA Championships in Birmingham during the weekend of August 26th and 27th for U15 to U17 boys and girls. Destiny, who is U14 competed in the girls U15 100m and 200m sprints. Destiny who is coached by Dave Crowley and Phil Roche has won County, Munster and National gold medals across 60m, 4x200m relay Indoor Championships, 100m, 200m and 4x100m relays in Outdoor championships and 4×500 Munster Cross Country Championships this year. After her long indoor and outdoor season Destiny went to Birmingham to run out of age and compete against the best u15 girls across England, Scotland, Wales…

Munster Schools and Limerick Track and Field
Dooneen Athletes completed on Tuesday and Thursday at the North Munster Schools Track & Field Championships, held in Castleisland, Kerry. Athletles who finished in first three places qualified for the Munster schools to be held Saturday 20th May in Castleisland. Destiny Lawal (Castletroy College) won gold in minor girls 100m (11.9), Ella Grace Osborne (Laurel Hill Colaiste) bronze in 800m (2:30.1) with Catherine McCutcheon 4th. Emer Purtill (Mungret CC) won gold in minor girls High Jump (1.55m), Junior girls Javlin (35.13m), minor girls 200m (27.2), minor girls Shot (12.18m) and minor girls 4x100m relay (with Madison, Marion and Emma). 2023 Munster Indoor Relays
Saturday the Munster U9-U19 Indoor relay championships were held in Nenagh. Dooneen had approx 20 teams competing across all the ages. For some of our younger boys and girls this was their first time competing at this level and performed amazingly. Main highlights on the day were the Girls U19 winning in a time of 1:48:25. The team was Amy Ryan, Molly Quirke, Victoria Amiadamen and Debbie Lawal. The Boys U18 won the 4x200m in a great time of 1:42:91.
