Newcastle West was venue for County Juvenile Outdoor Championships last weekend. The weather was kind as hundreds of athletes took part in track, field and relay events. This event is always a wonderful opportunity for children to compete and to showcase the breadth of events that athletes can excel at! Not every young person is a sprinter or long distance runner – so events like long jump, shot put, relays and javelin give us a chance to see the exceptional skill of these young people.
