2023 Limerick Cross Country Day 1
Day 1 of the 2023 Limerick County Cross Country was uneven-age relays and the Intermediate men and women.
First up were our U9 girls of Izabelle Berka, Emma Morrissey, Ali Bourke and Lily Conway who came home in 4th in their first competition. Next up were the boys of James O’Donnell, Cian Harte, Caleb Cusack and Dougie Silke who came home in an amazing 4th place.
We had two teams in the girls U11 Faye Hallinan, Clara Mooney, Ella Harte, Blanka deviet, Kiera Dillon, Ruth Cregan, Freya Collins and Zoe Casey O’Shea. These girls ran their hearts out and just missed out on the medals. Boys u11 were Luke Hays, Darragh Lynn, Sean O’Donnell and Darragh Minogue who were in a highly competitive race and came home 4th.
Girls galore in u13 as we had two very competitive teams with Aoife Hayes, Aoibheein Hennigarm Faye Cusack and Eva McMahon bringing home the gold medal with Cara Lynn, Lara O’Regan, Caitlin Garvey and Caorline Crowley coming home in bronze medal position. This is an amazing team of u13 girls. In the boys u13, we had Cormac Harty, Kyle Harte, Alex Whelton and Jay Collins come home with the bronze medals.
In the mixed U15 race Dooneen AC teams of Sophia Meaney, Ella Grace Osbourne, Johnny Tarpey and Rhuadhan Crowley come home with the silver medals and Robert McCutcheon, Oisin Garvey, Catherine McCutcheon and Niamh Hynes claiming bronze medals with an amazing last lap finish.
In the U17 mixed relay team of Brian Lynn, Jack Crowley, Ivanna O’Carroll and Rihanna Heng claimed silver medals.
Athletes continue their training in Crescent Comp and University of Limerick for the upcoming County Cross Country even and uneven ages over the next two week and Munster Cross Country Championships in October. Indoor championships start in January.
