2026 Limerick County Indoor Track and Field
After a long day in Nenagh, the 2026 Track and Field season is offically begun. Kicking off a 10AM with the U11 4x200m relays, and ending at 6:30PM with the U15 long jumps, it was a fantastic day put together by the Limerick County Board, and all the volunteers that gave their time to ensure smooth running of all the events. International Athlete Presentations 2025
Congratulations to Emer Purtil, Meabh Purtil, Destiny Lawel, Ellen Goggin, Ella Grace Osborne and Megan O’Shea who were all selected for various different Irish International Squads over the past year. This morning they were all recognised by the club and their teammates at a presentation on track. Ellen and Ella Grace were both selected in Schools Cross Country. Meabh was selected in the Irish Schools Multi-event. Emer was at the FISEC-FICEP Games 2025 in Budapest and the Irish Schools Multi-event. Megan was also at the FISEC-FICEP Games in Budapest. Destiny was selected for the European Youths, Macedonia and also the European U20 in Finland.

Limerick 2025 Juvenile Uneven-age Cross Country
The final county cross country championship was held on Sunday Nov 9th at the Newcastle West Show grounds, hosted by West Limerick AC. There was a great turnout from Dooneen Juveniles across all of the categories with team and individual success in each of the categories on the day. 2025 Munster Uneven-age Cross Country
In what turned out to be the best weather of the week, with sunshine and blue skies, Dooneen athletes turned out once again for the Munster Uneven-age cross country championship, hosted by Moycarkey Coolcroo AC. We had Jared Cusack and Noah Alfred starting out in the U0 boys race, followed immediately by the team of Olivia Harty, Sarah Bourke, Blanka Kowalska and Lily Conway in the girls U11. Sarah and Olivia had already competed out of age in the U12 race at the same venue three weeks ago, so this was a breeze for them today. In boys U11 we had Caleb Cusack and Shane Horrigan competing. 2025 Limerick County Senior and Even Age Cross Country
Newcastle West Show Grounds were the venue for the championships today. Races started bright and early, in glorious sunshine no less, with the senior women followed by senior men and the running through all the juvenile races.

Limerick Crosscountry Relays 2025
County Cross Country Relays took place in Bilboa on Sunday Sept 21st. It was a fine sunny day for once in September for this year’s relay championships. Teams from all the clubs competed in 4x500m relays in U9, U10, U11, U13 and U15 categories and a mixed U17 to wrap it all up.

Juvenile Training Schedule – Sept 2025
Juvenile training has returned as of August 23rd. We will train on Monday and Thursday evening in Mungret Park for the month of September, before we go back to the Crescent Comp. See map below for location. Training also takes place in UL on Saturday morning at 9AM, meeting on the track. There is no training on Sunday as of yet.

Munster 2025 TF U9-13, Saturday June 7th and Sunday June 8th in Waterford RSC. Limerick County Track and Field 2025
Results and photos from this year’s county track and field held on the Newcastle West track over the weeked of May 10th and 11th. Expanding on what is normally a single day event, this year was moved to a two day event to give more choice for all athletes to compete, without the rush of trying to fit it all into a single day. On Saturday we started off with the senior events and followed up with U12-Junior championships.
